CHALKS / KRIEDY
2005
Pigment print 50x60cm
Chalks is a series of analog black-and-white photographs created using medium format 6×6 film. The images are formed through direct interventions in space, where I introduce chalk drawings and marks that become an integral part of the photographic image.
The series refers to the tradition of imaginative photography of the Slovak New Wave, which significantly shaped my visual thinking. The work embraces playfulness, inventiveness, and subtle humor. Chalks is rooted in attentive engagement with everyday life, where simple gestures transform space into a poetic still life grounded in lived experience.
