Icons is a photographic series inspired by Roman Catholic iconography of Rusyn culture. I draw from the fundamental codex of icon-painting tradition.

The series originates in studio-based analog photography, where carefully arranged images serve as the starting material for manipulative interventions within a positive analog color process in the darkroom. I work with color silkscreen printing, multiplication, and intensified color saturation. Each photograph exists as a unique, one-of-a-kind original.

By combining sacred themes with a pop art approach, the series reflects on the shifting status of the icon in contemporary visual culture — situated between reverence, reproduction, and visual intensity.
